Tamago and Vegetarian Sushi // Food

Hello everyone!

After wanting to try making Japanese Egg (Tamago Yaki) Roll/Omelette things; I finally did! It was absolutely delicious, simple and fun to make - a great side dish to some sushi or any Oriental meal!

I used a combination of these recipes:  My Name Is Yeh and BirdyBaker via Food.com

Ingredients: 3 eggs, 1.5 teaspoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of soya sauce and 1 teaspoon of mirin
Cooking method as highlighted in the blogs linked!

It was so easy, fast and delicious - I would definitely recommend trying to make it if you're ever bored and want to spice up a meal! It's also cheap to make so definitely suits a student budget!

...and here are some hunger inducing sushi pictures.

Tamago Yaki, Cucumber and Avocado makis!

Hope you're having a lovely day!

Martin Creed @ The Hayward Gallery // London

 Hello again!

After seeing photos of his balloon installation all over social media and doing some online research, I finally decided to go and see, the Turner Prize winning, Martin Creed's "What's the point of it?" retrospective at the Hayward Gallery. At £8 for a student ticket and a free cloakroom, I thought the price was well worth the exhibition - it's definitely one where you can really have a laugh with your friends!

Momo and I hanging out on a pink platform with grass outside the gallery!
Outfit: Coat and Shirt (Zara), Skirt and Jumper (Topshop), Shoes (Vagabond)

Pretty word murals outside the Hayward Gallery

Street Art and Word Art from the balcony of the Hayward Gallery

Although conceptual art has long been criticised for lacking skill and rejects the traditional rules of fine art, I feel that it does bring something interesting to art - the experience. Conceptual art can often make the viewer think and feel different emotions and ideas and I definitely think Creed's work made our experience highly enjoyable through that.

Pretentiousness aside, some of the artwork was really meaningless BUT at the same time a lot of it was interesting and hilarious. I really loved the neon word art throughout the exhibition - not only did it look great but the giant (over 6'7) "Mothers" one I felt did actually make me feel a bit scared - as the artist intended!

"MOTHERS" "When you're small, your mother is always really big. So it seemed like a good reason for this to be big and... scary." Source: Martin Creed
Also we can't forget the balloon room - now that was fun! Work No.200 "Half the air in a given space"(1998) was so unique - I've never been immersed in a room half-full with balloons and believe me it was so fun!

Hanging out in the balloons! SO STATIC!

A bit lost in a sea of balloons.

We were lucky we went on a quiet week day afternoon so there were no queues and it was very quiet inside the balloon room so we could fully enjoy it!

Also..my hair went cray cray. It went so static the balloons were actually following my hair around !

A short panorama of the room!

Happy outside on the balcony against this brick wall..which was pretty cool!

Afterwards, we engaged in a little bit of shopping to pass the time and then Matt and I ended up in Misato for a spot of cheap and filling Japanese Food!

I couldn't resist.
PINK COAT!

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my short review of the Martin Creed Exhibition - I'd definitely recommend going if you're interested but I'd say take some art-interested friends because it's one to socialise about!

(Also it's a great way to procrastinate while enriching your cultural repertoire!)

Lots of Love,
Yinyin xx

Grey Skies // Bad Weather OOTD

Happy Easter everyone!
Hope you're having an enjoyable weekend eating lots of chocolate and catching up with friends and family!

Sadly the weather has pretty much over night gone rubbish - YAY FOR DEPRESSIONS and COLD FRONTS! (no.)  Actually was looking forward to some nice weather in the city but... maybe not!

So I went for a lovely Dim Sum lunch at Lido (China Town) this morning with my cousin and some friends which was so tasty! Can't beat some Siu Mai, Har Gau and Char Siu Bao!

So, here's what I wore today...

Coat: Zara
Shirt: River Island
Dress: ASOS Club L
Belt: Topshop
Shoes: Vagabond (Dionne in Denim)

Hope you enjoy the moody brick wall background - SO INDAYYY.
This outfit may feature quite dull tones but it was damn comfortable!

ANYWAY going to watch a BubzBeauty vlog now - can't quite express how much I love watching them! They always make my day happier and she is my favourite youtuber by far!

And not forgetting her dogs! Domo and Chubbi - best dogs on Youtube! (Controversial statement but I DON'T EVEN CARE!)

Anyway, thanks for reading and looking! Hope you enjoy the holiday and have a great relaxing and inspirational break!

Lots of Love,
Yinyin

Happenings

Hello people of the virtual internet world!
(Or as some call it, "Web 2.0" as I have learnt from reading about GIS and the future)

THE WEATHER IS SO SO LOVELY!
Although it really isn't helping my revision agenda...have procrastinated so much to enjoy the weather and the company of school friends back from their university holidays!

How do people do revision when it's just so great at home?

This is why I am imminently going back to university or else I will actually fail my exams - no one wants that now.

Pretty flowers = Not suitable for time for revision (obviously)...

Being rubbish with blogging lately because I haven't really had my camera with me or much to say...I thought I'd just throw some random stuff together that I'm loving and just share the fun and joy!

LOVE THIS SONG!

Calvin Harris - Summer

It's grown on me, a lot.
This one's going to be big this summer - as its millions of views have shown (and it's name...)!

This game is so cute and I love the sound effects! Give it a go - can you beat my high score of 5?!
(It seems like a low high score but trust me, this game is pretty challenging!)

Pop the cats' balloons to save them! (CAUTION: AVOID THE EVIL MICE)
Good little app to pass the time when commuting or when you can't be bothered to get out of bed!

BuzzFeed

What can I say...it's just addictive.
I LOVE THE QUIZZES.
That is all I have to say.

Yeahh...that's all!
BYE! Speak Soon ;)
xx
